Genelec & Dolby Bring Immersive Sound Back to Beatcon 2026
Beatcon has grown into one of the leading meeting points for Germany's hip-hop production scene, networking and industry reunion. Genelec once again teamed up with long-time friends Dolby to build a dedicated, perfectly calibrated immersive audio room: the Dolby/Genelec Lounge, running a 7.1.4 Smart Active Monitoring setup of 8341A, 8351B 'The Ones', a 7382A SAM Subwoofer and the mighty 8380A Main Ones.
The 8380A SAM™ Main Monitor made its world premiere right here at Beatcon back in 2025, and this year's stop gave music producers another chance to bring their own mixes into the room and hear them played back on the professional system. If you wanted to know what your beat actually sounds like, this was the room to find out.
Across the two days, the lounge hosted back-to-back beat feedback sessions, a Dolby Atmos listening session led by the Dolby team alongside industry experts and producers, and a Room Acoustics & Speaker Monitor placement walkthrough courtesy of Genelec's own Eric Horstmann and Anders Nyman, before everything wrapped with a closing Mixing & Mastering Summit, where producers and engineers dug into where stereo and Atmos actually sit in a 2026 production workflow.
All in all, Beatcon 2026 was another great show, and we are already counting down to being back in Berlin next year.
